Volunteer with animals in Cornwall and other ways to help

Volunteer with animals in Cornwall
Want to volunteer with animals in Cornwall? We welcome help in both our Redruth veterinary practice and our five charity shops – every hour you give helps us keep vet care affordable for pets in need.
In Our Veterinary Practice
Our veterinary practice offers a limited number of work placement and volunteer roles. These are very popular. If you are interested in one of these roles as part of your school’s work placement programme please contact us well in advance by sending your CV and a cover letter detailing your interests to our Head Nurse at our veterinary practice postal address.
Typical duties may include:
- Basic husbandry – cleaning out kennels and feeding the inpatients.
- Assisting RVNs in handling the animals during treatments and in preparation for operations.
- Observing veterinary consultations and surgical procedures.
Please note we are currently not a training practice for Student Veterinary Nurses.
In Our Shops
Our shops recruit volunteers on a regular basis, and roles range from collecting and sorting donations to display and selling within any of our retail sites. We appreciate any time you can donate to us and our cause. If you are interested in volunteering in one of our charity shops please call 01209 214004 and speak with Heather Woods, Retail Operations Manager.
Fundraising
